Time. We cannot create it. We cannot change it. We cannot hasten it. We can never have enough of it. It is always running out. It flies by with increasing speed. Time is an interesting concept. It is a limited commodity. People regret when they let it slip through their fingers. We hear the "could have beens" and "should have beens" in our dreams. Others never even look back to recognize where time was lost or wasted, never improving.
Don't let that be you.
How can you create the most efficacious use of our time? How can you be a good steward of the time you have been given? The answer lies in prioritizing. Prioritizing is a habit, one that comes from learning and practicing. It is like a muscle that must be strengthened and trained with increasing weights. Take a first step in prioritizing with this small, tangible and manageable advice:
Start every day by writing down the top 3 things you want to accomplish before you lay your head on the pillow to go to bed that night.
Stick to those. Hold yourself accountable by reviewing them at the end of the day for progress. Repeat this- Every. Single. Day. (Well, except maybe on vacations). You will find that instead of starting 10 different projects yet finishing none of them, in the meantime feeling tattered and overwhelmed, you will now finish the 3 most important things you set out to do. FINISH. That is the key word. This accomplishment will leave you feeling empowered, giving you momentum for the next day. Learn this small habit to kick-start your new powerful mindsets!
