WELCOME TO MY LIFE HACKS PAGE -

We all know that I'm a sucker for productivity, efficiency, and impact in life.  I would be remiss if I didn't share with my readers life hacks I've found that I use to maximize those three things.  On this page, you will find products, books, companies, or services I have found that I trust to send my readers to.  Life is multi-faceted, and in order to be impactful in life, one must have knowledge in many areas.  This is why you'll find that I have included tips and tools for many different facets of life, just as I do in my blog.  I update this page regularly as I discover new things.  Enjoy!

BOOKS

Books

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People

I love this book by Stephen R. Covey.  It will literally change your life.  The concepts and ideas presented are timeless ways to increase your effectiveness in your life, no matter your career or goals.

The Tipping Point

The Tipping Point is an intriguing book that investigates how small things make big impacts.  If you want to maximize your impact in life and business, this book is a great one to read!

The Lean Six SIGMA Pocket ToolBook

A Quick Reference Guide to 100 Tools for Improving Quality and Speed.  I found this to be an excellent resource.  It is easy to digest and short enough to finish in a week.  If you internalize what is taught in this book, it will set you apart from the vast majority of those around you.

What is Lean Six Sigma?

A good overview of why lean thinking can impact your life or business.  It introduces base concepts and gives real life examples.

Triggers

Triggers, by Marshall Goldsmith, is a book about creating lasting change in your life.  Marshall teaches you to understand your underlying triggers that either prevent you to change or move you to change.  Understanding these can unlock positive change in your life.  I wrote a 3-part blog series dissecting his 15 triggers - Start at the 1st one here.

Freakonomics

Economics underpins much of the direction of society.  Having a deep understanding of economics can help you in many life decisions and circumstances.  Plus it is wildly fascinating.  Freakonomics offers a fresh perspective to the field of economics, written in an upbeat and clear manner.

How to Win Friends And Influence People

This is an oldie but a goodie.  There's a reason why this book by Dale Carnegie has been around for over 80 years.  My parents both were required to read this book in their careers for management training.  After reading it myself, the learnings still apply to my generation.  People don't change.  Human habits don't change.  Do your future self a huge favor and read this book.

The Millionaire Next Door

The Millionaire Next Door is another oldie but goodie.  It is a unique and thorough study done on millionaires and their personal habits.  In terms of life hacks, this book can reset your expectations of successful people and can put you on a path to understand and amass true wealth and financial freedom in your life.

Outliers

This is a phenomenal book by Malcolm Gladwell that evaluates the landscapes of success.  He did a considerable amount of research on the lives of "outliers" to understand what truly makes someone successful.  The answers you'll find in this book are not only surprising, but can also be applied in your own life to maximize your success and life impact.  I found this book to be an interesting and eye-opening read!

The Speed of Trust

The Speed of Trust is written by Stephen R. Covey.  I read this book mainly because I loved one of his other books so much (The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People).  The Speed of Trust didn't disappoint!  This book discusses how trust changes the trajectory of your life - both personally and professionally.  Cultivating and inspiring trust in yourself and for yourself can speed up your life impact in amazing ways.

PRODUCTS & SERVICES

Products & Services

Amazon

Shopping online is must faster and cost effective these days than driving to several stores to find the right item.  You save time and fuel cost in driving and can often find better deals online.  As far as online shopping goes, Amazon has just about everything you could dream of, so I recommend starting there first.  Time AND money savings?  Sounds like something I'd recommend.

If you want to create a website or blog and you are not a coding finatic, I highly recommend Wix.  I used Wix to create this site.  It is incredibly easy to use and comes out beautifully.  Wix has created countless apps as add ons to your site so that you can create almost anything you'd like!  Click here for more details.

Zip Recruiter

If you are looking for a job, I recommend using Zip Recruiter.  The website has an insane amount of companies listed, and it matches your profile to the company listings, e-mailing you notices when a job matching your profile comes up.  It greatly simplifies the searching you need to do on your own.  And you know how I feel about simplicity!!  I've included a link below for you.

Mint

Mint is a wonderful life hack.  Not only does it eliminate the need for and time spent on a monthly budget, but it also has tons of cool features like tracking your spending, income, and net worth over time.  And it is FREE!  Ahh the best.  It automatically creates bar charts and pie graphs (which is a love language for a nerdy engineer like myself) for you to easily visualize trends.  It links up to all of your bank accounts, credit cards, etc to have everything in one place.  Simple.  Efficient.  Productive.  My kind of a product!

TurboTax

Every good and honest American must do their taxes.  Every.  Single.  Year.  Why not make it as easy, cost effective, and simple as possible?  The tool I've found for this is TurboTax.  The software is expertly designed with an intuitive user interface and handy help articles for virtually any question you may come across.  Have a rental property?  Business?  TurboTax has different tiers of software for those needs as well.
